life's setbacks can become a catapult for future triumphs
After a bit of a disappointment suffered yesterday, I had to find a way to move forward quickly, and with as little pain as possible. One thing about me, is that I am constantly and actively, participating in what I refer to as "positive self-talk." Those little words of wisdom and praise that you say to yourself to keep yourself moving forward. To reaffirm that you are enough as is; that you and what you do is good and worthy.
My journals are filled with my thoughts on what is good and true in this life. I've recently started to share some of these concepts in my art. This one above, came to me last night as I was trying to read, but instead found myself over-thinking the day's events. I just started to think about what one does with a setback. What possible good comes out of them? Then it hit me.... I (all of us) have to learn to use them as a way to propel ourselves forward with even more determination and grit. It isn't easy. No siree Bob, it isn't. But what choice do we have? To sit and wonder what might have been, simply delays us finding more joy. So my disappointment yesterday, while a bit hurtful and a blow to the old ego, will not rule what I do today, tomorrow, or next month, in following my dreams and living the life I want to live.
